Also known as: Kanni
Origin: Tamil Nadu, India
The Chippiparai is a slim, athletic sighthound from southern Tamil Nadu, historically gifted to royalty. It's calm indoors but transforms into a serious sprinter the moment it sees prey.
Native to Tamil Nadu's hot, dry interior. Excellent in southern Indian climate.
Two meals: rice + chicken + curd. Avoid feeding human-spice levels — they handle some heat but moderate.
Chippiparai are believed to have descended from the Saluki — making them genetically among the oldest dog lineages still bred in India.
